1999 - "Trivia Renaissance"

KVSC Trivia turned 20 this year and as a follow-on to the 1997 retrospective, Captain F. scoured the audio archives, even dusting off some reel to reel tapes that hadn't been taken out on a date in a decade.  The 20-year retro did feature tag on the end that resembled some early tinkering in regards to how future intros would take shape.

Intro

INTRO:  Twenty Years of Trivia Madness

This year Trivia would turn 20 years old and even though Captain F. produced the Retro Trivia Montage in 1997, a birthday is a perfect time to look back.  With this in mind Captain F. dug even deeper into the KVSC archives to find even more dusty but delightful trivia audio.  This montage also includes clips from several awards ceremonies including a sampling of the "fun" awards whose origin is not entirely clear.   Note the end of this production.  It includes another "transition audio" piece, thus signaling that Captain F. was getting close to the true form of the INTRO

Challenge Line Calls

Challenge:  Dave Lee Unplugged

Uncle Corn and Dave Lee have various work commitments during Trivia but can't resist calling-in to provide rich fodder for the Challenge Line.  This call was the first in what would become a yearly tradition of stream-of-conciousness non sequitur from these two.  Challenge line workers soon learned to press record and keep their comments to a minimum

Challenge:  Rat, Rat, Rat

Best audio forensic analysis of this challenge suggests this is Bruce, then leader of Pig R' Us, orally gesturing to a rival team

Challenge:  Zehn Kleine Jagermeister

The Posse was impressed with this caller's bi-lingual abilities.  They just don't think its gonna work with the women

GP Originals

GPO:  Happy Birthday Al

Absent of a phoned-in birthday wish from the trivia teams, The Goat Posse sends out its own to the Historical Trivia Individual Al Neff

GPO:  Journey to Hour 25

Riffing on the renaissance theme, the Posse used mideval immagery to taunt the, by now weary, Trivia players

GPO:  Playagra

It there was a Bristol-Meyers-Squibb during the Renaissance, then they might have hired the Goat Posse to be their Mad Men
