Audio Productions

Creative audio production is one of the main reasons The Goat Posse flocks to Trivia each year.  The herd likes to write skits, take phone calls from Trivia players, and produce several yearly audio pieces that are uniquely The Goat Posse.  This outpouring of audio creativity is expressed in several forms as explained below.

Challenge Line: Trivia players call KVSC to challenge other teams to, for example:  Erotic Pickle Eating Contest.  The Goat Posse records these phone calls and sends them to the On-Air studio for playback.  This usually encourages the challenge target to call, and seek revenge in the form of a "response challenge".  The Posse will try to provoke callers since many are sleep-deprived, or temporarily chemically enhanced.  This tactic yields many entertaining calls.  The Posse saves all calls that make it to Air.  Many calls never make it though, because they are just lame.  A few of those calls are saved each year by the Posse so that future generations can learn from the sins of the past.

Goat Posse Original productions (GPO) : This is where the fun of audio theater is experienced.  Each year the Posse will draft several skits based on the Trivia theme for that particular year.  Depending on availability of voices, logistics, or the occasional "Starbase" interruption; some or all of those skits will be produced in a given year.  Some of the productions the Posse are particularly proud of include: Pirate DMV, Playagra, and TSI-Minnesota.

INTRO:
Inspired by the ever complicated musical introductions utilized at sporting events, Captain F. felt Trivia needed the same treatment. In 2001, Captain F. began producing a montage of movie and TV quotes set to music.  The production was specifically designed to introduce the theme and pump up the teams right before question one.  The template for the intro came from a promo for 1995’s Dial-T-For Trivia. (which was produced by KVSC Alumnus Troy and Dave). The true FIRST Captain F.-produced "Intro" was in 1997 and was experimental in nature.

Stink Rock
:  A fake music infomercial series that was originally produced by a loosely organized group of KVSC alumnus. (Aaron, Troy, Chris, Dave, Rick, Brad)  They produced the original Stink Rock and followed with Laser Stink, Porn Rock, and Southern Fried Stink.  The Goat Posse picked up the torch in 2004 with their debut offering Wedding Stink.  This was followed by Celebrity Stink, Lip Stink, and Love Stink.

Goat Posse Call-In Contests:
Starting in 2007 The Goat Posse began conducting call-in contests to help improve the quality of challenge line calls that had been missing since the late 1990s.  So far 2007's Trivia Idol and 2009's Poet Triva-Slam Haiku contest have been great successes.  The Posse will not discuss 2008.
